Meet Dr. Vanier
Kathleen Vanier, MD, is a board certified, internal medicine physician who has been practicing in San Francisco since 1999. Dr. Vanier highly values the long-term relationships she establishes with her patients. Her goals are to provide excellent, evidence-based and individualized preventative care and treatment. She loves conversing with her patients and working with them to come up with a plan of care that is right for them. She recognizes the importance of communication with all members of the health care team and works to optimize and facilitate information exchange and strongly advocate for her patients.
Born and raised in western New York State, Dr. Vanier attended medical school at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She completed her residency training in internal medicine at California Pacific Medical Center and was selected Chief Resident in Internal Medicine.

Group at the Pacific and Van Ness Campuses of California Pacific Medical Center
for 15 years. She became Chief of the Hospitalist Division of the Department of
Medicine. Teaching residents and medical students, Dr. Vanier acted as the
Dartmouth Geisel School of Medicine Internal Medicine Clerkship Site Director
Dr. Vanier lives in San Francisco with her husband who she met in medical school and their two sons. She greatly enjoys traveling, cooking and hiking.
